Title: Mahabharata

I read fourth part of Public Domain Edition Mahabharata(part D) for this week's reading diary post. It was interesting how in the story a female was turned into male by Yaksha. I like it how Arjun is a great warrior and he always wins against whoever is on the opposite side. It was great that he killed evil-hearted Jayadartha in the battle. "All men were maddened with the thirst for blood, and the night was filled with horrors." Imagining this part of the mahabharata frightens me of how that battlefield would look like, for instance, blood, bodies and heads all lying on the ground. I found that interesting how the widows were sent to heaven with their husbands by Vyasa mantras. I enjoyed reading the story especially, the afterlife. There were some very interesting scences, in fact unique things going on.

Arjuna slays Jayadratha.
